The efforts of rehabilitation activities have ensured the positive trend in the condition of the child. During the day Vladislav breathes independently, but at night he needs to be connected to the respiratory device. Doctors suggests he needs to undergo a surgery to implant a pacemaker breathing - the diaphragm pacemaker. With the help of an implanted stimulator Vlad could breath during the sleep without the respiratory device and would not need tracheostomy, which is a serious obstacle for further rehabilitation. University Hospital of Uppsala (Sweden) is ready to accept the child for surgery. The cost-estimate includes the payment for operative treatment - $ 40,774 and the cost of the device - $ 62 827. At the moment, the Commission of the Ministry of Health considers the possibility of payment for the treatment from the budget funds. In case of a positive decision of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, Chance Foundation will fundraise funds only for the device, and we will reduce the total amount by $ 40 774.
