Nikita Tarasenkov

Four-year-old Nikita from Vitebsk has ankylosis (immobility) of the temporomandibular joint on the left. This disease is accompanied by a chronic limitation of the mobility of the lower jaw, asymmetry of the face may occur, the respiratory and chewing systems are disturbed.

The problem was revealed during the introduction of complementary foods - the chewing reflex was absent, the boy's mother had to feed him in a supine position. Until now, Nikita eats only liquid and pureed food. Despite all the difficulties, Nikita is a very active, cheerful, kind boy, he enthusiastically does constructors, fiddles with cars, patiently collects puzzles, tries to learn the alphabet. Smart and curious, Nikita seeks to share his thoughts and observations with others, and is very upset that he cannot speak fully and is often misunderstood.

To correct the pathology of jaw development, Nikita was recommended surgical treatment using distractors - compression-distraction devices that are used for staged surgical treatment. Nikita's family cannot purchase distractors on their own due to their high cost.

Nikita dreams of living a full life: eating, communicating and playing with peers.
