Baby Arianna has a rare type of blood cancer. Until a year old, Arianna grew up healthy, surrounded by the care of her beloved family. The trouble came unexpectedly: once the baby's mother found a tumor on her neck. The doctors diagnosed lymphadenitis and started treatment, which did not help. After many tests, the girl was sent to the Center for Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and Immunology (Borovlyany). A terrible diagnosis was made at the Center - acute myeloid leukemia.
Arianna did not give up and courageously underwent 5 blocks of chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant. Unfortunately, during the treatment, a fungal infection joined, due to which the doctors had to remove part of the baby's lung. Also, after the transplant, Arianna developed pneumonia and was no longer able to breathe on her own.
The girl is now in intensive care on a ventilator. In order for Arianna to be able to recover and continue the main treatment, therapy with the antifungal drug Posaconazole is vital. The girl's mother raises her alone and cannot purchase the medicine on her own due to its high cost.
