Sasha has already undergone radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and bone marrow transplantation. In August, in a very early post-transplant period, doctors revealed the development of venoocclusive liver disease, a life-threatening condition. The only method of treatment for this complication is a course of "Defibrotide". Sasha started treatment with this drug, but the amount of it available at the cancer center was not enough to complete the full course.
